About Andmotive

A small team that builds websites properly.

We build WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify sites for businesses across the United States. Fixed prices, documented handovers, and an honest answer when the thing you're asking for isn't worth building.

Editing a WordPress site

Who we are

Andmotive is a web development team working with US businesses on the unglamorous half of the internet, the service pages, the store templates, the migrations, the care plans. Not campaigns or brand films. The site itself.

We started because of a pattern we kept running into. A business pays for a website, it looks fine, and then nothing happens. No enquiries, no rankings, and every change requires an email to whoever built it. Eighteen months later they pay someone else to do it again.

That happens because most sites are built to be approved rather than built to work. They're designed to look good in a presentation, not to answer the question a worried person typed into their phone at 11pm. And they're assembled from a theme and twenty plugins, which is why they're slow and why nobody can maintain them.

So we start somewhere else: with what people in your market actually search for, what your competitors are already ranking for, and what the site needs to hold in two years' time. Design comes after that, and it's better design for having a real problem to solve.

How we work

Six things we hold to,
including the inconvenient ones.

Fixed prices, not estimates

Once scope is agreed the price is agreed. If you change what you want, we re-quote that change before doing it. An estimate that drifts is the client's problem on an hourly contract, and we don't think that's fair.

No lock-in, ever

You own the code, the hosting, every account and every repository. We hand over documentation at the end of a project whether or not you keep working with us. If leaving is hard, we've built it wrong.

We'll tell you not to buy things

If the answer to your problem is a settings change, a cheaper plugin or a different platform entirely, that's what you'll hear, including when the bigger project would have been the better invoice for us.

Performance is a requirement

A site that ships slower than the one it replaced has failed at something basic, whatever it looks like. We treat Core Web Vitals as a build constraint rather than something to check afterwards.

Rankings survive the rebuild

The most expensive redesigns are the ones that looked great and lost 40% of organic traffic on launch day. We audit what's working before design starts, and every changed URL gets a redirect live at cutover.

US business hours

Same-day answers during your working day rather than overnight round trips. Most of the cost of offshore development is paid in waiting, not in rates.

Platforms

We build on three,
and recommend honestly.

Most agencies specialise in one platform and recommend it to everyone who walks in. That's efficient for them and occasionally expensive for you. Because we build on all three, the recommendation you get is about your catalogue, your team and your budget rather than about what we happen to know.

WordPress

For businesses that publish, service pages, locations, case studies, blog. Custom themes with structured editing so your team never files a ticket to change a headline.

Shopify

For retail that wants hosting, security and PCI handled. Custom themes rather than reskinned marketplace ones, because that's where speed and conversion actually come from.

WooCommerce

For stores that need control, complex or per-customer pricing, B2B wholesale rules, unusual catalogues, or real integration with an ERP you already run.

The most useful thing an agency can say is "you don't need that". It's also the thing you'll almost never hear one say.

We lose work this way sometimes, someone comes for a rebuild and leaves with a two-hour fix. That's fine. It's cheaper for us than a client who spent money they shouldn't have and knows it.

FAQ

Straight answers

How big is the team?+

Small enough that you talk to the people doing the work, and structured so there isn't a single point of failure on your project. You won't be handed from a salesperson to a project manager to someone you've never spoken to.

Where are you based?+

Our team is in Islamabad, and we work US business hours for US clients. We're upfront about that rather than pretending to be somewhere we're not. You can judge the work on the work.

Do you subcontract?+

No. Everything is built by the team you're speaking to. If we genuinely can't do something well, we'll say so and point you at someone who can, rather than quietly marking up a stranger's work.

What if we're not happy with the design?+

You approve wireframes and UI before development starts, and you see weekly previews on a staging site throughout the build. The point of that cadence is that nobody discovers a problem in week eight that could have been fixed in week two.

Do you offer ongoing support after launch?+

Yes, care plans covering updates, backups, monitoring and small changes, plus support arrangements for businesses that just want a developer reachable. Both are monthly and cancellable any time.
